This vehicle is a 1990 Porsche 911 C4, which is an all wheel drive car with 69% of the power going to the rear wheels and 31% going to the front wheels. If the rear wheels start to lose traction, more power is transferred to the front wheels. It has a lockable differential and is a great winter driving car as well as an outstanding overall performance car. An extra set of wheels is available, with almost new winter Blizzak tires on them, which increases its winter driving capability even more. The summer Michelin tires, which are on the car now, have less than 1,000 miles on them and are mounted on almost new wheels. They are equipped with a remote air pressure monitoring system for added safety and performance. The car itself has a little over 127K miles on it. The vehicle has a 1991 Porsche Turbo engine in it. The original owner, from whom I got the car in 2001, told me that when he swapped engines in the mid 90s, the 1991 Turbo engine had very low mileage on it. I have driven the car about 10K miles since 2001, and estimate that the Turbo engine has about 60K miles on it now, judging from what the original owner told me. He also told me that the Turbo engine is rated at 420 horsepower, though I have not had that verified. When he swapped engines, the cruise control and the remote rear stabilizer control could not be reconnected, so there are two non-functional switches inside the car. I also did not have the remote control door locks and alarm system restored. Otherwise, all systems are functional and work well, including the sunroof, the electric windows, the door locks, both windshield washing systems, the electric seat controls, and the clock. (The clock gains slowly and is ahead by a few minutes every week or so.) The car has been maintained by a factory-trained Porsche mechanic (Alpine Motors in Hayden Lake, Idaho). He replaced the air conditioner compressor last summer and has done other minor maintenance jobs since I got the car in 2001. The car has needed nothing major, though he told me that one of the head studs is broken and if the car is ever raced, the stud needs to be replaced. Since the stud has probably been that way for a long time, and since I didn't plan to race the car, I have not had that replaced. Replacing it would involve pulling the engine, so if you plan to race this car, you can estimate the cost of that repair accordingly. The mechanic told me that the car could lose compression from the broken head stud even if it wasn't raced, but so far its performance has been great and I have seen no need to have the stud replaced. The car has a dark metallic green paint job that appears almost black and is very sharp. I had a protective coating put on the rocker panels to protect the lower part of the body and the rear fenders from stone damage. The fronts of the rear fenders have become somewhat chipped because of gravel damage from the road. The front of the car also has some chips from road gravel. The driver's door has three small parking lot dings where people have opened their doors against this car. There a few cracks in the paint on the rear left fender, which I've been told is from deterioration of the putty associated with the wide body conversion and flared fenders. I've been told it would cost a few hundred dollars to repair that area, though I have felt it's not noticeable enough to bother with. I am planning to keep the radar detector and the Sirius satellite radio receiver that you can see in the photos of the interior, and they are not included in the price I am asking for the car. The remote tire pressure monitor in the photos is included, and the Sirius satellite antenna, on the right side of the front trunk, is also included. The interior is a light tan, and the leather is in very good shape. I installed a center console to give the car extra storage and a cup holder. The interior of the front trunk is in good shape, though a few of the snaps don't work. The spare tire, as you can see from the photo below, is a compressible type and needs to be inflated before use. You need to carry a small electric air compressor with you in case of a flat tire. I replaced the battery in October 2004. I am asking $19,900 for the car and the Michelin tires/wheels that are on the car now. This car is being sold as is, with no warranties offered or implied, so please ask all the questions you need to ask before taking advantage of this unique opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind high-performance vehicle. I am making all the disclosures I can think of and will gladly answer any further questions you might have. In addition to the vehicle itself, I have two extra sets of tires/wheels available, and I am asking $800 for each extra set. One set consists of almost new Blizzak tires and wheels, with less than 1,000 miles on them. The other set consists of the wheels and tires than came on the car when I acquired it in 2001. They are very wide wheels, and the original owner told me they were custom made by HRE and cost over $1,000 apiece just for the wheels. They have Dunlop tires on them with probably 2,000 to 3,000 miles left on them. The Michelin specs are: Wheels - AT Italia; Tires - PilotSports 255/45ZR17; 285/40ZR17; SmarTire remote pressure monitor with full function monitor. The Blizzak specs are: Wheels - 17 X 7.00-8.50; 17 X 8.50-10.00; Tires - 17X7.5; 17X9. The HRE wheel specs are: 17" rims, 10" wide in front, and 12" wide in rear. The wheels are secured with a Gorilla locking lug nut on each wheel. Asking price for the car with the two extra sets of tires/wheels is $21,500. Also available is a tandem axle trailer that will accommodate the Porsche. It has been used very little and is less than a year old. It is equipped with lights and brakes. I'm asking $1,900 for the trailer, but will sell it for $1,500 if you buy the car and the two sets of extra tires/wheels. The total asking price for the car, extra tires/wheels, and trailer is $23,000. I am selling the car because it is difficult to get it serviced here in Central Idaho and because we decided to buy a boat. There is a limit to the number of motorized vehicles we need to have around, so the Porsche has to go, though I certainly have some qualms about selling it.
